Having had one for over a year now, I have come to the verdict that it is generally a good tank, but it doesnt go without its drawbacks.

The main drawback for me is that the undergravel filter with the media mean that any muck or left over food gets stuck in the media and isn't removed very well by the filter, which I find is not very good.

The second is one that a few people have mentioned, in that you can't stock it with very many fish. Infact, a single male Betta (possibly with a few small shrimp) will completely fill it. I cannot say that it does not make a great home for a Betta, but not much else will thrive in it. You could maybe try a few male endlers (3-4), but little else. Goldfish all need tanks far bigger (10-15+ Gallons, whereas this is only 4). It is recommended that guppies are in tanks of 10+ Gallons, and so on.

However, one must state that it is indeed a good looking tank, and will fit into most rooms, especially with its large range of avaliable decor from the BiOrb range. It is also a great size for a bedroom, kitchen top or office (and other such spaces).

To sum up, I would probably give this tank a 6/10. If all you want it for is a little office Betta Bud, then its great, but if you're looking for anything else, then it most likely isn't going to be the right tank for you.

I love my baby Biorb.I have 3 conventional tanks and wanted something small and different for my kitchen bench.I found it easy to set up, it cycles quickly and I clean it in 10 mins using a syphon and the same method as my other tanks. I actually prefer that there is no gravel in the tank and it is easy to syphon any debris out from between the media and the rocks.I have 5 guppies in the baby biorb. Be careful if they have babies in there as I once found some babies in the filter(I could see them inside the plastic on top of the sponge!!)I was easily able to retrieve the babies by dismantling the filter and they have all survived. Now I remove the pregnant mother to another conventional tank when she is fat and put her back after birth.Overall a fun and stylish set up.

I've had the baby biorb for over 2 years now. Everything is still working great, I've never had a problem. I had 2 platys in there for a year. After they died I got a fancy goldfish and have had him for about 14 months without any issues. Great fishtank, I highly recommend!

There are a lot of factors that go into keeping a betta, or any other fish healthy. I have had a betta in a biorb for over a year and it is doing great. Temperature, amount the fish is fed, and water quality are all very important to making sure your fish is healthy in your biorb or biube tank

When you do water changes the easiest way is to use the biorb siphon hose and cleaning pump and change about 20% of the water at a time, you shouldn't ever need to dump out all the water in the tank at once.

I bought one for each of my children for their rooms. I find the small opening more safe. I do wish we could have more fish but I do love the idea of a beta in one instead of those terrible little cups pet stores keep them in. The water changes are hard because the tank is heavy. Overall I do love the look and the complete package. The options and the weighted plants are so great. I would recommend this to anyone wanting one or two small fish.
