I really like my biorb tank. I am not very happy with the heater kit that I just bought for it though. It keeps an even temperature, which is great, but the suction cup-stand is not a very good design, unless I am missing something. The contour of the tank makes it very difficult to get the “stand” to stay on the tank. I was dissapointed. I thought that the heater simply went through one of the holes in the cover, which would be safer, so as to not, submerge my $40.00 investment. So then We call the service departmentto find out if the heater is fully submersible, because the heater has only a “minimum” water-fill line and the directions are terrible because they suggest that you can lay the heater down, but are not at all specific. No calls back from the company. Not impressive! Please if you have any suggestions any body, I’d greatly apprciate it.
Sorry to hear you are having troubles with your heater. I recommend you call Everything Biorb – http://www.everythingbiorb.com They are a distributor for Reef One and from our experience it is MUCH EASIER to get a hold of a live person there than with Reef One directly. We’ve had customers try for over two weeks with the manufacturer and never talk to a live person. Everything Biorb should be able to help you and answer your questions, their phone number is 801-660-1173
Hi Josy, did you get answers? I have the same questions! … poor instructions indeed. The plastic thing sucks for the baby biorb. if it doesn’t matter if it touches rock and can indeed be fully submerged that is what I want to do but it is totally unclear. Maybe you got some answers? I will try contacting everythingbiorb as well.
